Local planning and detailed planning

A local plan is a long-term planning document developed and used by municipal governments to perform a particular task or to update or modify the planning of a particular part of that municipal territory (e.g. a city neighbourhood, part of a village or rural area).

A detailed plan is a detailed planning document covering a part of a municipal territory, which is developed in order to set requirements for the use of specific land units and the parameters for developing them and to update land unit boundaries.
